My first impression of these earrings was: WOW! << that was before I looked closely. See orig review below this one in brackets.[EDITED REVIEW after getting replacement set: See pictures 3 and 4. The center stones match, but they are not blue like the bottom teardrop stones. And the top oval stone on this pair has very little color at all - it's translucent milky bluish and but picks up whatever color it's next to. Certainly doesn't match the bottom stone. At least in the first pair the top and bottom stones matched! I'm NOT keeping this pair either. Will I try again? Third time's the charm? I don't know.]If you're looking at the picture, you've probably noticed that there is a defect in one earring. Sadly, one of the earrings has a bad stone. It looks like the stone is missing but it is not. It is just very dark, almost black. Since I have Prime, I did a request for a replacement. Fingers crossed that the next pair are good! I will post an update when they arrive.Nevertheless, I was impressed with the weight (just right) and the fact that they are mirror images of each other -- not just two identical earrings. The swirl in the center curves opposite of each other -- if that makes sense? Anyway, it's a mark of a better quality earring than the Dollar Store variety I was expecting. The stones that aren't damaged look very pretty. Shiny and reflective with plenty of light play in them.The item description on Amazon says "925 sterling silver". I see no markings on the earrings to verify that. But they are of a weight that feels like my other silver jewelry. No guarantees though.While I wait for my replace pair, I think I'm going to risk it and order a couple other colors.
